Anatomy of a Stack: Satomi Stack

We've always had a crush on Satomi, but we've never seen a stack from her quite like this – we love the mix of texture and the vintage feel of the white gold.

Tiny City Band, $170;  Golden Plait Band, from $320;  Rosecut solitaire with a white diamond, from $960, all in white gold.  Available in store and online.

Lunch Lady: Surf's Up on Metropolitan!

Hey babe, it's Wednesday! Here's what I ate! The Balmy at Saltie is hands down the best take on a Bánh Mì that I have ever had. I paired it with the Lavender Shortbread Cookie (because it's shaped like a cute whale... duh) and the Turmeric Tonic (because I had no idea what that was) and everything was perfect :-) Last summer I took a little trip to Nantucket and have been pining for that weekend to repeat itself. Today, being at Saltie definitely brought me back...for the 10.5 seconds it took my sister and I to devour this delicious beast. This place is a foolproof lunch spot for summer!

p.s. if you're a native New Yorker don't try to pull off any surf lingo no matter how much you're enjoying your bitchin' lunch- you'll just sound like a Ninja Turtle and your co-workers will laugh at with you.

How do you solve a problem like Maria? Why, Captain Von Trapp, you fall madly in love with her, and present her with a ring that's blue like her eyes, blue like raindrops on roses, blue like satin sashes on girls in white dresses.

How We Wear It: Jules

Jules, photographed casually sunbathing with her chubby cat Lolo, is an expert at mixing metals as well as textures - she also has just about the cutest signature we've ever seen.

From bottom to top, her center finger stack is a Yayoi Forest's Belt Band in yellow gold, $860,  Katrina Lapenne's Braid Ring in sterling silver, $66 and the Adjustable Arrow Ring in brass, $32. All available in store and online.

She is also wearing a custom birdette j. pinky ring gifted to her by the lovely Robin of Bittersweets NY.

5 out of 5 Catbirds agree that Dina has the best Tacos! So good we gave the Pork Taco ($2.50) a Deb-worthy glamour shot... feast your hungry summer eyes :) Her teal and lavender taco truck named La Troca Del Sabor hangs out on the corner of Bedford & N4th and usually opens up around 12pm.  You'll probably have to wait in line behind at least three of us on any given day, but it's absolutely worth it. Enjoy!!

If Pepé Le Pew were ever to convince his one true love, Penelope Pussycat, to be his bride, she might hang this Talon perfume amulette around his neck before they said, "I do," lest his malodorous skunkiness force her to say, "Adieu."

Talon bronze amulette, $250 in store and online

How We Wear It: Allison

We are crazy about stacking up rings as high as they'll go and our Graphic Designer, Allison, is extra great at mixing her Catbird rings with vintage pieces - most she has collected from antique shops hidden within Indiana.

She is wearing Jezebel's Evil Eye Ring, a Bittersweets Famous Letter Ring and a First Knuckle Ring (worn in a regular ring size).

What We Love Today: Pancho Bag

I got one of these bags to go on vacation and I am not sure how I ever lived without it. I kept it with my on the plane ride to hold essentials - and then used it when we were traveling as a clutch AND a toiletry bag. So cute and perfect.

Dream date.

Loulou De La Falaise, muse to Yves Saint Laurent, wore a homemade cardboard and glitter headpiece to her wedding, that typified her joie de vivre. I recommend The Beautiful Fall: Fashion, Genius and Glorious Excess in 1970s Paris to learn more about Loulou, Yves, and their deliciously madcap demimonde.

Designer Q&A with Jennifer Sarkilahti of Odette

I love: Bonfires

I loathe: Litterers

My idea of happiness: Reading in a hammock at the beach

Favorite way to spend a Sunday: Brunch followed by thrift shopping or sitting on a blanket in the park

Favorite brunch spot in Williamsburg:  Diner

Favorite drink spot in Williamsburg:  I have a soft spot for the margaritas at Five Leaves

What are you reading?  Big Sur and the Oranges of Hieronymus Bosch by Henry Miller

What are you listening to?  Daniel Rossen Silent Hour/Golden Mile

What is your style inspiration?  My mom in the 70s and my high school art teacher. Art teachers always seem to have the most interesting jewelry.

What first attracted you to jewelry making?  When I started making jewelry I was a recent Fine Arts grad and it started as a side project from my painting. In the beginning, I was attracted to it as another form of artistic expression but eventually it just sort of took over.

If you had to describe your aesthetic in three word what would it be?  Textured, hand-drawn, unconventional

What is your favorite piece of jewelry to wear and why?  I’m a big ring collector, I suppose I like them the most because I can always look down and enjoy them. You can always find me wearing either stacks and stacks of rings or one big statement ring.

Best part of creating jewelry?  When a piece that I spent 6 hours carefully carving out of wax is cast in metal. I definitely get a little rush of excitement seeing the design in metal for the first time.

Who’s closet would you most like to raid?  Jane Birkin and Michelle Williams.

Who’s jewelry box would you most like to raid?  Nefertiti’s.

What Catbird piece are you currently coveting?  A Campfire Candle

featured in this post: Klaia Triangle Ring, $110; Ojos Eye Cuff, $164; Round Totem Ring, $70;  Tall Totem Ring, $135

Perfect for Summer

Our delicate teardrop rings in 14k gold with CoralBlue Topaz or Opal.

New York, New York.

Mr. Boddington is one of our absolute favorite stationers, and their Mr. Boddington NYC Loves ABC print is our new unofficial official baby gift. Rony was at a baby shower and the mom to be was gifted one of these prints, and the guests all squealed, and when we unpacked them in the store the Catbirds all squealed, so I'd say it's unofficially official indeed.

Mr. Boddington NYC Loves ABC print, $24 available in store and online

We're super excited to announce our collaboration with the fine folks at Anthropologie! We created a Brass Heart Ring and a Silver Ring with a 14k Rose Gold Heart, just for them. They also have a selection of our silver alphabet rings! Woot!!

Hope Gangloff is a local artist, and a dear friend of our dear friend Robin, the genius behind Bittersweets. I love how Hope's drawings look like life as we know it round these parts. I don't know about you, but I, for one, often bathe with swans.
