Stealing Stealing Beauty.

Course of action: wear this dress on hot July nights, hand-wash it and let dry in the sun on hot July days. Repeat, every summer for the next 5 summers. Result: a dress approximating Lucy Harmon's.

AND: One of my favorite blog posts, on one of my favorite movies.

One more, for the road.

We only just posted about Kelly from The Glamourai, but I can't resist showing you these beautiful pics where she's rocking this amazing Lady Grey Necklace. Yowza.

Also: Domino Magazine is coming back?? Yipppeee!!!

Spikes and plates.

One of our favorite ladies, the beautiful (and sweet!) Kelly (aka The Glamourai), just posted some photos of her apartment. I'm particularly fond of her gilt-gold dollar store dinosaurs; the pair of goofy-elegant rhinestone and brass leaf earrings she picked up from the store a few weeks ago sits in between the scales of the stegosaurus.

Happy Spring!!

These fine feathered friends are coming to a Catbird near you very (VERY!!) soon at the store NOW! I mean willya just look at their acorn hats, and little sleeping bag bundles?? I could just faint.

Fancy footwork, fancy figures.

I spotted this Valentino ad while flipping through magazines at brunch a few weeks ago, and now the sandals for me are up on Net-a-Porter, and I have spent too much time amortizing the $1095 price-tag with an non-mathemitican approved formula of costs per wear + the desire for perfection = still too much. I am slapping myself on my wrist, and closing that window, but oh! sandals, I do love you.

Thanks NY Mag!

Dream collective.

Vision for the weekend: Technivorm purring, Tarot Deck burning, Alice Coltrane turning.

Weekend guiding spirit: rosewater glitter cake.

Obstacle to realization of weekend vision: I don't bake.

George Boorujy

My amazing friend George, (who I have known since childhood, and who painted this map for me ages ago before he was an International Superstar Artist), is having an opening for his second solo show at P.P.O.W. tomorrow, March 15. The detail and beauty in his work needs to be seen in person to be believed. (The blue jay above is HUGE!)

Read more here and here.

Pretty babies.

I just learned how to take a screenshot on my phone and it makes me feel awfully young and savvy. Here's some of the fruits of my labors - 2 of our favorite blogging ladies, Emily from Into the Gloss and Hannah of Hannah and Landon displaying their Catbird wares on Instagram.

Catbird first knuckle ring, $64 in 14k available online and in store
Saipua saltwater soap, $10 online and in store
Tocca mini eau de parfum, $18 online and in store
Catbird fleurs de nuit travel candle, $12 online and in store

New designer: Ila & I

We have been eyeing Ila's beautiful wares for years and finally decided it was time to take the plunge. She takes traditional designs and puts enough of a spin on them to make them discreetly luxurious and just a bit more dramatic. So very beautiful.

See here for Ila&I.

The sweetest.

I can't really get enough of these two, at any age.

Edward Gorey

My friend Tami introduced me to Edward Gorey when I slept over her house when we were about 13 years old. We stayed up late laughing uproariously at The Epileptic Bicycle. (What??) So now, here I am, quite a number of years later (ahem) and so very pleased to be selling his work. What comes around goes around, right Tam?

Velvet Pumpkins

Have we rhapsodized to you about the velvet pumpkins? (If not then you haven't been face to face with Leigh in the store lately.) Starting at $10, and really completely useless - unless you count joy and magic as useless qualities. (Although a prudent customer mentioned they make great pincushions. Smartypants.)

Polka

I kind of wish I dressed like this.

Lilac Wine.

The color of Neko Case's walls, offset with the black lampshade, really speaks to me. When my husband was little he thought purple was a mystical color. I think he still does. I've always loved a certain shade of lilac, and violet even more, but thinking of my husband as an 8 year old, channeling creative energies in a purple tee shirt makes me love these shades all the more.
