What We Love Today: Men's Toothed Band

This one's a tough, bright little microcosm of love itself, with the imperfections equaling beauty and the deceptive fragility held together by the strength of the parts interacting. We're mad for this ring, by our very own Claire. Also available in a slimmer lady version.

We just expanded our Polly Wales offerings; lunar lovers, rejoice!

Wish I Had This Card Today.

Word to the wise, Louisa May. From Felt + Wire, via Cup of Jo.

Almost there.

Right, so I've got the Wild Unknown prism and the stack of books. Now all I need is the Louis Vuitton steamer trunk to perch it all on.

WE WILL BE CLOSED THIS WEEKEND!

Good luck out there everyone!

Sigh.

Pictures don't lie

Photo evidence suggests this summer cold is making me say some wacky things.

Yeah, you WISH.

This is exactly what I wanted to look like in 9th grade. (I completely did not.)

Brass Alphabet Bracelets

I took two of our brass alphabet necklaces and twisted them around my wrist. This is what they look like after a few weeks, including a week at the beach. Perfect, if you ask me. Like a friendship bracelet from summer camp.

The September Issue

Zooey Deschanel, looking ravishing, decked out in our Pavé Moon Necklace and in Bittersweet's Feather Bracelet (not on line).

What We Love Today: Native American Plates

Finally back in stock: ceramic plates, perfect for collecting those bits and bobs, printed with beautiful. sepia-toned photos of Native Americans. A catbird best-seller.

Miss Moss

We love the blog Miss Moss, and I was so excited to see some Catbird goods tucked into her latest roundup. Miss Moss approaches the 21st century's constant flickering and zooming of images with a visual sort of synesthesia that holds its own amongst a deluge of montage. We salute you, Miss Moss, with a jewel-laden hand.

Beautiful Room

This room is total perfection to me. (No idea where it's from. It has been sitting on my desktop consistently for over a year, inspiring me.)

A person's a person. No matter how small.

So, gently, and using the greatest of care,
The elephant stretched his great trunk through the air,
And he lifted the dust speck and carried over
And placed it down, safe, on a very soft clover.
Inspired by tonight's bedtime story. It never gets old - not even a tiny bit.

Ladies & Gentlemen...

You've seen it, right? No? Oh. Well, you really should.

Dear Time Out,

Thanks for the super post. I think we're in love. Let's get Gay Married.
Love,
Rony

Honestly...wtf

The extremely lovely ladies at the intoxicating and addictive (seriously, be careful) blog Honestly WTF, wrote a delightful post about our alphabet rings. Thanks ladies!! We love WTF in delicate gold. Also she's rockin' the first knuckle ring with aplomb.

Grand Street Suit

My pal, Andrew, has just launched Grand Street Suit, specializing in impeccably cut, impossibly affordable suits. Check out Andrew, in the top photo with his main squeeze, Martha, looking awfully grand in his signature suit - at my wedding. Send your man straight to Andrew, and he'll come back looking just right.

Awesome.

Jodi Foster looking impossibly cool.

Dirty Jerz

I'm headed to the beautiful (really) Jersey Shore for a week. Catch ya on the flip side, Kittens.

What We Love Today: Tattoos of Truth

It is very important that you have a tattoo. Everyone has a tattoo, and everyone’s tattoo is unique, so without a tattoo like everyone else, you have absolutely no chance of being unique.

LIFTED!

Oh my, oh my, oh my. Our new table was installed this morning and we are deeply, madly in love. The store (shoebox sized, for those of you who haven't been here) feels bigger and airier and the sightlines (yo jargon) are a dream. I've been caressing those golden arms all day, with my eyes and otherwise.

Hold on to your hats!

Summer's not over yet, and nothing protects your skin like a hat. No sunscreen or umbrella does the job as well.

Btw, Joanna at Cup of Jo has a great piece about how to talk to little girls.

In the neighborhood

Amy Merrick's new website is the prettiest new picnic the www has to offer. We carried her terrariums in the store years ago, and I wore a flower crown she made at my wedding. We're real big fans.
