Little Doodles

We really smitten with this doodle by Little Doodle. It's got a dash of the eyes of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg and makes us feel quite mysterious.

Satomi Kawakita bar ring, $350 online and in store

So tiny.

Aren't Satomi's teeny rings just the absolute sweetest? Available with a tiny pearl (shown), black diamond, ruby or white diamond. They are perfect stacking rings, and could also be a good engagement ring for a very understated bride. $170-220

The Dogs of Catbird, part 5.

Doyle the dog.

Sassy

Pop quiz: What, or who, do these two movies have in common (aside from being two of my all time favorites)? If you know the answer then, A - you are my friend and B - I need you to know that she is a Catbird customer. We usually keep pretty mum about our fabulous clientele, but this one was too exciting to me to not blab about.

You want to talk sassy? She chose to wear a tuxedo to the Oscars, and won, when she was ten years old.

(If you haven't seen the original Bad News Bears, or Little Darlings, in your adult life, you MUST.)

My favorite graduation card.

I crack up whenever I think about giving this to a new grad. By the inimitable Maira Kalman. In store and on line. $4.95

Sunday Best

Do you read Ill Seen, Ill Said? You should. It's really lovely. I was reading it this very day and happened to see that we have similar taste in rings. The internet is a wondrous thing.

Pretty in Pink

Satomi's hexagon ring looks so subtly rosy and lovely in 18k rose gold. One of our favorite things about the hexagon rings is their chameleon like nature. There is truly no one who wouldn't happily add one into their mix.

p.s. Forgive me the title.

May-December romance

What did you do yesterday? We ordered Christmas ornaments. Online this year, we promise.

What We Love Today: Blanca's Stacking Ring

Shown here in one of my favorite combinations: rose gold and oxidized silver, with some baby diamonds tucked in for sparkle. If you are working on a good stack, this is a nice investment.

Oooooh sparkly!

Much like a goldfish, I pause at all things sparkly. These new polished by nail maven Deborah Lippman are the stunning-est. Great for anyone whose nails are calling for luxury.

P.S. What's with all the branching out, right? Chocolates, nail polish... Soon you'll forget that our specialty is delicious jewelry.

Chocolate with a capital CHOCOLATE

Kittens, we struck gold. This chocolate is as good- better!- than it looks. I'll be honest with you: I ordered it for the beautiful packaging. Kindly, proprietress Diane sent a bag of samples. I'm not really a sweets person, and I laughed out loud when I ate the Fleur de Sel caramel. It's really almost an indecent food experience. All I'm saying is that if pastrami sandwiches tasted like these chocolates, George Costanza would have started a revolution.

The happiest little skull you ever did see.

Make the best of what you've got. Love these little guys, available also with pink or navy bows.
