"one of these days I'm gonna get myself organizized."

I love sweet little pencil cases and journals with a purpose. Travel journals, knitting journals, gardening, wine, etc. It helps me in my eternal quest to be more organized. These beauties by Linea Carta are at the Bedford location now and are so cute. Plus they give you that great back-to-school feeling, without actually having to go to school.

new stuff!

We were sooooo smart this year and the items coming in are just right for late summer/early fall. Are you ready for huge bulky coats and sweaters right now? Neither am I. But how about these amaaaaazing, sheer, thin cashmere leggings? I mean really, in this age of gilded lilies, why on earth are you not wearing cashmere leggings?

This Saja dress - and this general trend - is blogged about rather eloquently here. It is gorgeous, refined and cool - and surprisingly easy to wear. Much easier to wear than you are probably thinking right now.

Okay. Look. This dress by T Lux -in the window right now - has a modern ROOSTER print. Yeah. You heard me. Roosters. It's being worn by our lovely armless model with a great, cardigan vest by LAMade, who, lucky for us, ventured into the world of extremely affordable sweaters. Featured in the foreground is quite the jaunty fedora. Seriously, there is no reason you should not be stylin' to the max this Fall.

della! DELLAAAA!!!

Okay so it's true, we have a lot of j.brands, a lot of wide legs and a lot of high rise - but here it is kids, the trifecta. And they are AWESOME. Vintage-inspired embroidered details are perfectly done - and not at all overdone. Extremely butt-smackin' flattering. Go get 'em Tiger. (Oh, and her name is Della. Which is a really nice name.)

gift-o-rama

I spent as much time at the gift show as I could muster. Generally speaking, it's not my favorite hunting ground, seeing how the rest of the universe hunts there too. That said, it is great fun to troll through the aisles of schlock and find a quiet booth that no one is visiting with interesting and exciting wares. Such a treasure hunt, that show.

What did I buy, you ask?

- some crazy intricate Afghani necklaces that I wish I had taken pictures of so I can look at them when I'm feeling crabby
- cool leather pouches with great brass hardware to attach to your belt (kinda horsey, really cool)
- lots of cashmere (hats, scarves, gloves, shawls...)
- so so so many crazy fun and cool christmas ornaments. that was a blast.
- gorgeous hand made soaps wrapped in beautiful paper
- new cards (i love buying cards)
- a HUGE John Derian order, that i placed with John Derian himself. I was awkwardly star struck. the new stuff is so amazingly great. my favorite is a new series of pastries on a turquoise background.

plus tons more...

It's all exciting and makes me pine for winter (ha!), which feels imminent these days. It's a cruel trick though. I know.

shoes now on line.

Yep. That's right. As requested.
Check it out.

fall. but just a little.

Fall stuff has started coming in and we are excited! Summer, it was nice knowing ya but we're done, thanks. No offense. We try our darnedest to push it so Fall stuff comes in as late as possible (this is actually really hard as the seasons dictated by the fashion industry have little relation to the weather outside - for example, according to clothes, Spring starts in January). The Rite Aid on my corner was proudly showing candy corn - CANDY CORN!! - at the end of July! We don't roll like that.

Anyway - the stuff coming in you could easily wear right now and keep wearing into Fall. Por ejemplo:

Super sweet silk blouse by Penguin. You could wear it now or layered when it gets cooler. (When is that again?)

You'll have to trust me on this, but the print on this top is FOXES. That's right. For extra foxiness. In case anyone had any doubts.

More stuff coming in regularly. Stay tuned.

rainy day women.

Plastic gramma rain bonnets! Coming soon. Too bad we didn't have these in today.

their eames are true

The post office has surprised me by issuing these incredibly cool stamps. I just bought way more than I need.
